Peppers Mineral Springs Hotel - About Hepburn Springs

A resort town in the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges region, Hepburn Springs is located in the middle of the largest concentration of mineral springs in the country and is renowned for being the 'Spa Capital of Australia'.

An easy 75 minute drive from Melbourne, the area is home to a profusion of day spas and therapy centres, all making use of the beneficial and health-giving properties of spring water's minerals.

Established in the gold rush of the 1850s, the historical village was built by Swiss Italian migrants and their love for the finer things in life can still be seen during a stroll down the Main Road. Indulge in local beers and rich coffees at the numerous cafes and restaurants, or sample classic pub food at the historic country watering hole.

Visitors looking to soak up a little more history will only have to slightly venture out of Hepburn Spring's centre to find landmarks and traditional sites. The historic Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm is a countryside gem where lavender fields bloom from November through to February, while sporting enthusiasts shouldn't miss a trip to Cricket Willow, displaying the greatest in sporting memorabilia including the first cricket bat.

Get back to nature with a visit to the Hepburn Springs Mineral Springs Reserve where pure mineral waters can be sampled by hand or pump. Alternatively, take a long leisurely walk through the Hepburn Regional Park or challenge yourself at the 16 kilometre Tipperary Track where you will see Sailors Falls, the extinct volcano Mount Franklin, the Blowhole and the Hepburn Pool.
